Tooth caries

Tooth caries Several theories have been launched to explain the process of decay. In 1890, Miller used the methods of isolating, blush and identify bacteria in laboratories of Kock and concluded that tooth decay is a process chemical parasite. Scientific observations at the beginning of the century indicated the need for the presence of bacteria for the development of caries. These observations showed that the bacterium isolated from saliva and plaque, in the presence of carbohydrates, caries lesions similar to developed; tooth decay is not retained; the caries lesion is usually under buildup of bacteria; and the presence of dental plaque in vitro in the presence of hydrogen produces acid which causes low pH of the card.

The relationship between bacteria and oral diseases is discussed for a long time. In 1683, Antoni van Leeuwenhoek sent a letter to the Royal Society of London, reporting that cleaned their teeth with pieces of cloth and sticks after meals, because of this retained teeth clear how little men of his age and his gums never bled. He noted, also, that when not cleaned their teeth, it was possible to identify the presence of a material with a lens concluded that there were "animalículos" living on your teeth.
